Sassy Walk and Sassy Pants
I realized today, after I didn't do my homework assignment in favor of taking a much needed nap, that I have a sassy walk.
I do not pull this out often, mostly because most days I stumble around this campus like the sleep-deprived zombie that I am, but I do have it.
It is probably the most powerful weapon in my man-catching arsenal...I learned that today.
Here I was, wearing my sassy pants, and decidedly more awake and well fed than I have been in a long while, walking from work to my last class of the day. Sassy walking, to be honest. I was in the groove, loving the weather and knowing that nothing could get me down today.
And then, out of nowhere, a BOY starts TALKING TO ME!! This is unheard of on campus! You do not talk to complete strangers unless you are a weirdo...but no, this was a perfectly normal boy who happened to want to flirt with me and my sassy walk. He wants to be a pediatrician. I want him to find me on campus again and ask me out.
The best part about this is that I did not look particularly man-catching today. I threw my hair up in a bun, shoved a fake flower in my hair (which was the conversation starter between me and mr. future-pediatrician) then threw on a tee shirt and my dc hoodie with my sassy jeans. I was comfortable and happy, yes, but definitely NOT as sexy as I have been in the past.
And yet this boy talked to me.
This is what I learned. It is not always about your looks. It isnt' about how much or little makeup you wear on your face, or how much time you spend on your hair. It is about YOU. About how YOU feel about YOU. Today, I felt really good about ME, and this boy noticed. He wanted to talk to me and get to know me, not one of the other thousands of gorgeous girls on this huge campus.
So, the moral of this story is...take time to like YOU...just the way you are right now. Dig down deep and find your own sassy walk. Your own self-confidence. And you will be just as amazed as I was at how it can change your day.
